The MCU has an amazing way of making us fans foam at the mouth for more just as one movie ends. Hell, we finally got the conclusion to everything so far in Endgame and we're about losing our minds to find out what comes next, especially after the amazing job they did with Spider-Man: Far From Home.
So to satisfy your monstrous cravings for MCU content, I've scoured the deepest, darkest corners of the internet (mostly Reddit) to bring you everything that's been discovered so far about Phase 4.
Thor 4; It's Happening
Thor 4 is officially a go! This makes Thor the longest running character franchise in the MCU to date, which is fascinating to me personally since I thought Thor 1 was meh and Thor 2 to be absolute shit.
Of course we can all agree that Ragnarok was amazing on every level, and the execs at Marvel heard us (and our wallets) loud and clear. To capitalize on the success of revamped Thor, it was just released that Taika Waititi is officially returning to direct.
Black Widow Movie is Happening... Somehow?
It's been confirmed multiple times that our favorite redheaded assassin is definitely 100% dead (LOL yeah ok *cough Loki "died" like 4 times cough*), but somehow coming back for her own solo flick?
Yeah, I'm confused too, but Marvel rarely lets me down, so I'll have faith that they will pull it off somehow. Wouldn't it be sick to see her fight through her past to escape the soul stone?
Official Release Dates
Although they have only confirmed two movies, Marvel has released official release dates for their upcoming slate, totaling 8 films starting in 2020.
Here are the official dates:
- May 1, 2020
- November 6, 2020
- February 12, 2021
- May 5, 2021
- November 5, 2021
- February 18, 2022
- May 6, 2022
- July 29, 2022
No X-Men, Fantastic 4, or Deadpool Yet...
Although the monumental deal is completed and character rights have been transferred to Marvel Studios (aka Disney overlord), don't expect to see these characters appear alongside our favorite MCU characters anytime soon.
The head honchos at the MCU know what they're doing and tend to plan wayyy ahead of time, so I personally wouldn't expect to see them make a re-appearance for another 8-10 years. They are probably also wanting to let the X-Men overload die down a bit and get the fans hungry for more to prevent fatigue.
Well, that's all of the solid info I could pull up for now, I don't want to get your hopes up with some BS Reddit theory that winds up being totally false.
What do you think will happen in Phase 4? We all know it's going cosmic, but how cosmic can you get without the Silver Surfer, Galactus, or Doctor Doom?
Let me know in the comments!
